It is an obvious thing to say but ICT are nowadays totally implemented in every part of our reality. We use technology in our everyday life from the simplest thing to the most complex ones. Today we have computers, smartphones, smart TVs, tablets and an endless range of devices which complement our life and make it easier.
Education is therefore a
field in which we must try to constantly innovate and introduce new tools to
transform the task of teaching in a more effective one, in which the learners
can acquire knowledge in ways more intuitive and more practical each time.
In this sense, and according
to the law, we must work to introduce ICT in the classroom in a way to foster
the personal development of our students and enhance their capabilities to
prepare them to their professional future in a world each time more in touch
with the new technologies.
To this respect and according
to “el Real Decreto 1105/2014, de 26 de
diciembre, por el que se establece el currículo básico de la Educación
Secundaria Obligatoria y del Bachillerato” and alluding to what is referred
in the Block 5 of each of the levels of education regarding transversal contents,
we can highlight the following key competences (competencias clave):
1. La competencia
lingüística
2. La competencia matemática
y competencias básicas en Ciencia y Tecnología
3. Competencia digital
4. Aprender a aprender
5. Competencias sociales
y cívicas
6. Sentido de iniciativa
y espíritu emprendedor
From this we can draw the
importance that it is being given to ICT nowadays, stated as the third key
competence to achieve. Not without reason, the implementation of the
technologies in the class is a step forward to achieve a whole new concept in
the educative landscape in which learning can be interactive, participative and
built based in the necessities of our students, helped by the tools and
innovations the technology provides us with.
